    C3@E3

Last night was so much fun.  We ended up getting there early because traffic was really light.  We hung out with Grandma PMS in line for about an hour before the party started.  When we first got there we went straight to the Call of Duty 4 cabana (the party was by the pool) and got to see one of their employees play some of the levels.  It was a finished game, but due to legal reasons they were not allowed to let anyone play and they could only show a few of the levels.

There were also a couple of cabanas set up for Guitar Hero 2.  Trixie made me play later in the night.  I pretty much sucked since I had no idea there was another button to push to “play” the guitar.  I’m a shooter type of gal so I don’t think I will be running out to get that game.

The first person I recognized was Trixie out front.  And on the way in Dirty Diva check me in and said hi.  I felt sort of special that she recognized my name.  Trixie introduces me to a few of the fellow gamerchix that were there.  I briefly meet Spinner, Doubt theshadow, and BatGirl.  I think I’m missing a chick, but I feel bad that I can’t remember her gamertag.  I also finally met Absolute Tara and we hung out all nigh.  She’s been on my friends list for a long time even though we don’t think we’ve ever played.  We plan to soon.

I notice Major Nelson inside.  He was the only person other than Trixie who I knew what they looked like.  My husband, on the other hand, recognized practically everyone there.  He got excited when he saw Peter Moore, the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft.  We went over to meet him and Major Nelson was with him so I introduced myself.  We got a picture with both of them.

Trixie introduced us to BigDaddy, other wise known as Jeff Bell, the Corporate Vice President of Global Marketing.  He was a really cool guy.  We talked games and kids for a while and had our picture taken.

There was a guy who came out from Greece to be there.  His name was Dimitris Chaintinis.  Real nice guy.  I guess Xbox Live is not legal in Greece.  I didn’t know that.  I think I knew there weren’t servers for Greece, but I didn’t know it was a law thing.

So Dave and I went up to the bar to get a drink and he got all excited again.  I guess standing in front of us was Peter Molyneus who was the genius behind Fable and the owner of Lionhead Studios.  Got his picture too.

Dave then recognized Frankie O’Connor who works for Bungie.  I guess Dave reads his weekly updated on the Bungie wedsite.

Since it was past 11 and Dave did have to work, we called it a night so we went out to get our car and Dave recognized someone else.  It was Cliffy B with Epic Game (Gears of War).  He was really excite for that one so I took their cute picture together.  Dave was really proud that Cliffy like his new Vans.

On the way out, a little birdie said I could take the 360 controller pillow I was eyeing all night.  So I took it.  I love it and it will stay on my couch.  If you look at the first picture of the event you can see it on the fancy couch.

It was a great night.  We both had a lot of fun and Dave was excited to meet people who worked for the companies of his favorite games, Halo, Gears of War, and Fable.

Thank you Trixie for extending the invite to me!!!

    The last two weeks

I’ve been neglecting this since I’ve been grumpy due to being unemployed.  I was offered a job today and I start Monday.  I’m really excited.

Well the week after I was let go, I took Bowie in to get fixed.  It was so sad.  When I brought her home she just stood there with her head hanging down drooling.  She perked with a couple of days and, even though she had the cone on, she was playing just fine.  She’s now cone-less and had her stitches removed.  Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I’m starting training tonight at the local PetSmart with her.  I’m looking forward to it.  I think it will be good for her since she will be around other puppies and maybe she’ll learn to listen more.  She’s pretty good, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Dave has been wonderful.  I’ve felt like a loser, but he’s assured me everything is fine.  He’s been working so hard to make up the lost wages with side jobs.  He is a good man and I know I’m lucky to have found him.

Being unemployed, I’ve have gotten a ton of game playing in.  BluStorm and I have been working our way through Gears of War on Insane.  I’ve beaten The Darkness and Overlord and I’ve almost beaten Overlord for a second time.  I’m trying for all the achievements on that one.  The online stuff may be hard though.

Tomorrow Dave and I are going to the C3@E3 party that Xbox is hosting at E3.  I’ve never been to a gaming event so this should be a lot of fun.  Trixie was nice enough to give out some passes to the LA area Chix.  On Friday I will write about that.  Hopefully I will have some good pictures too.

I think that is all for now.  I guess I should go and do some homework.  I’m so tired of school, but I have a long way to go.
